At 2599 m, the Biberkopf, located in the Allgäu Alps, is one of the highest peaks in this mountain range. It forms a natural border between the German State of Bavaria and the Austrian Tyrol. Despite its impressive shape the Biberkopf is not too difficult from a mountaineering point of view; it can be scaled by less skilful mountaineers within about three hours.
